Birthday Bash

Make plans now to celebrate Shelby County’s 200th birthday on Sunday, November 24. The yearlong bicentennial celebration of Memphis and Shelby County concludes with a family-friendly birthday party and spectacular firework show at Shelby Farms.

Family Fun and Entertainment

The festivities will kick off with a Birthday Bash for Shelby County from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Shelby Farms Heart of the Park. The free event will feature exhibitions representing the seven municipalities. Visitors also can learn about the rich history of Shelby County and also will be treated to free cupcakes while supplies last (one per visitor).
Youngsters will enjoy petting zoos and bouncies.

Dignitary Awards Luncheon

Shelby County’s Bicentennial Dignitary Awards luncheon scheduled for Sunday, November 24 from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM at the FedEx Center will honor Shelby County’s five living former Mayors, as well as Shelby County history makers. Local entertainment as well as historical reflections from the Shelby County Historical Commission will be featured during this event.
