This $55 million project in Memphis’ South Main District will redevelop Downtown’s historic Central Station and its surrounding area. The Central Station tower is being renovated into a 135-room boutique hotel and commercial space, while the PowerHouse is being transformed into a six-screen Malco Theatre and the existing Downtown Farmers Market will be reconfigured to include more space for vendors.
Also in the works are three new apartment complexes featuring more than 200 apartment units on 17 acres. The Main Street Apartments will consist of one three-story building at Carolina and Main. Front Street Apartments will consist of seven three-story buildings on the currently vacant land between South Front and the Central Station train platforms. And Railroad Platform Apartments will feature a three-story building on the elevated platform above Main Street.
